Choosing between critical chance and critical damage in Hero Siege is easier when you stop comparing the numbers in isolation. Before spending Hero Siege Gold through
Hero Siege Gold purchases or other upgrade decisions, consider how each option changes your existing setup. A bigger critical damage figure can look impressive while contributing less than a modest increase in the frequency of critical hits.
Compare Expected Damage, Not Item Numbers Critical chance determines how often an eligible hit becomes critical. Critical damage determines how much extra damage that hit delivers. Neither stat tells the whole story alone: their combined contribution depends on the chance of receiving the additional damage.
For a simplified comparison, suppose ordinary hits deal 100 damage and critical hits deal 200. At 20 percent critical chance, average damage is 120 per hit. Raising chance to 25 percent produces an average of 125. Keeping chance unchanged but increasing critical hits to 225 damage also produces 125.
Those upgrades are equal in this example despite displaying different numerical increases. Treat these figures as an illustration, not a description of every skill or tooltip. Confirm whether the displayed critical damage value represents total damage or only the additional portion before calculating.
Let Your Current Stats Set the Priority When critical hits are uncommon, increasing their damage affects relatively few attacks. More critical chance can make your existing multiplier contribute more frequently. This does not mean chance always wins; the size of each available increase still matters.
As critical chance rises, additional critical damage applies to a greater share of eligible hits. Using the same simplified model, at 50 percent chance, ordinary hits of 100 and critical hits of 200 average 150. Increasing critical damage to 225 raises that average to 162.5.
By comparison, raising chance from 50 to 55 percent produces an average of 155. The stronger choice has changed because the starting stats changed. Recalculate when replacing several items rather than assuming yesterday's preferred stat remains best.
Account for Skills and Real Encounters Attack frequency matters mainly for consistency. Frequent eligible hits give critical chance more opportunities to express its expected value. Slower attacks can feel less dependable over short encounters, even when their theoretical average looks competitive.
Check the behavior of your actual damage skill before extending this framework to your entire build. If an effect cannot critically strike, neither critical stat improves that component. Evaluate conditional effects only during the periods when their requirements are satisfied.
Compare complete equipment packages, including any damage or attack speed you would sacrifice. A critical upgrade is not automatically an overall upgrade.
Whether you farm equipment or
buy Hero Siege Gold for planned purchases, choose the upgrade that improves your current setup rather than the one with the most impressive isolated number.
