So you have just unlocked a brand new gun in BO7, maybe it is the XR-90, and straight out of the box it feels clunky as hell. No attachments, slow aim, weak range – you know the drill. The thought of grinding it up to max level can be painful, but it does not have to be. The trick is to play in ways that get you into as many fights as possible, as fast as possible. That is why a small, chaotic map playlist is your best mate. If there is a “Containment Zone 24/7” or anything similar, jump in. You will be in the thick of it non-stop, which means more kills and more weapon XP. And if you want an even bigger boost, a quick look at something like CoD BO7 Bot Lobby can open up some extra options for faster levelling.
If the small map rotation is not on, Hardcore modes are your next best bet. Pick Domination or Hardpoint and you will find that even a weak, unlevelled gun can drop enemies in one or two shots. That means you are not stuck losing fights just because your weapon is underpowered. Plus, objectives pull players together, so you can pick up multi-kills without having to run the whole map. It is a lot easier to rack up XP when you are killing two or three guys in quick bursts.
Before you load into a match, check your Double Weapon XP tokens. Sounds obvious, but loads of people forget. You get them from the Battle Pass, promos, or just logging in. Use them when you know you will be playing for a while. One hour of double XP on a high-action map can push your gun up several levels in a single sitting. At the same time, keep an eye on your camo challenges. Even the easy ones, like 50 kills or 25 ADS kills, give you a nice XP bump. Knock those out early, then set up your loadout to chase the trickier ones later like longshots or hipfire kills.
And if you are burned out on sweaty lobbies, Zombies is a solid change of pace. Early rounds are perfect for building up easy XP. Just train a horde, line them up, and go for headshots. It is not quite as quick as a perfect multiplayer run with a double XP token, but it is steady and way less stressful. You can kick back, throw on some music or a podcast, and still see your weapon level climb. If you want to make the grind even smoother, looking into CoD BO7 Bot Lobbies can give you another path to speed things up without the constant multiplayer pressure.
